Diamond State Curling Club is in the very early exploratory stages of planning to move to a dedicated ice facility.  Three of the DSCC board members (Dewey Donovan, Herb Kupchik, and Brian Hufe) had a preliminary meeting in mid-August with a real estate development company that is interested in exploring how we could partner together to make that happen.

IF developments over the next several months proceed successfully, there is a POSSIBILITY that we might kick off a Dedicated Ice Campaign to carry our plans forward. At the moment, we have formed a small committee to work with the development company and help provide them with information (both about curling facilities and about our own club).  The committee members are: Dewey Donovan, Herb Kupchik, Brian Hufe, Mike Vild, and Kevin Ridgley.

Eventually, we will need input in a number of areas of expertise as we move forward, but it is too soon to predict what those specific needs may be and when they will be needed.  Many of you might have talents/training/experience in areas that may prove valuable as we proceed.  If you would be interested in participating in this process, and think that you might have a background that might fit (engineering, architecture, banking, law, building, fund raising, grant writing, construction, etc), please message me directly.  I will keep a list of interested folks and skills, and pull you into the activity as the need arises.

I’ll provide updates when there’s anything worth reporting; in the meantime you can comment or ask questions here or to me directly.
