Fall Sunday Penultimate Game
CORRECTED Implications
The scorecard from Sunday indicated that Lappert had defeated Vild. This was incorrect, confirmed from both teams, Vild came out victorious. So here are the corrected implications of the games this coming Sunday, November 30th. This one change to the scorecard turns the analysis of the penultimate week from one of the simplest to one of the most complicated. We can actually end up with a fourway tie for 2nd in a league of 6 teams, meaning tie breakers can decide if you’re in the A final or the C final. First, a look at current standings. I’ve updated it to include the second tiebreaker of total points, because it could easily matter.

The games on Sunday are:
Lappert vs Hercus
Donovan vs Remington
Hufe vs Vild
Ignoring ties, there are 8 possible combinations of win/loss scenarios. Only one of these scenarios results in a clean set of finals with no tie breaks, that’s when Hercus, Donovan, and Vild win. That puts Hufe and Hercus in the A event, Donovan and Vild in the B event, and Lappert and Remington in the C event. On the other side of the spectrum with wins by Lappert, Donovan, and Vild, there’s a scenario where we can have a 4 way tie for 2nd. This would mean one team plays Hufe in the A event, one team plays Remington in the C event, and the remaining two will be in the B event. Here is my grid of possibilities, below which I’ll describe what each team is looking at.
Team Hufe – Win or lose, you will be in the A event.
Team Hercus – If you win you’re in the A event. If you lose you’re in a tie break. Mostly to decide A or B event, except for the possible four way tie I described above.
Team Lappert – Win and you’re in a tiebreak for A/B event, except for the chance of a four way tie which could send you to C event but you look strong in the tiebreakers. Lose and you’re in a tiebreak for B/C event, or guaranteed C event in the “clean finals” scenario I described above.
Team Vild – Win and you’re either in the four way tie for second, in a three way tiebreak for A/B event if Remington and Lappert win, or guaranteed B event. If you lose you’re in a tiebreak for B/C event or guaranteed in the C event if Lappert and Donovan win.
Team Donovan – If you win you can either end up in the four way tie, end up in a three way tie for A/B Event if Hufe and Lappert win, or you’re guaranteed B event. If you lose you’re either in a tie for B/C event or guaranteed in the C event if Vild and Lappert win.
Team Remington – Win or lose you are in the C event
Alright, see everyone on Sunday!
