You’re Invited!
to the

2025 MACA
Friendly!

at Philadelphia Curling Club

The Details

Philadelphia is hosting the first leg of the 2025 MACA event.

We are looking for curlers of any experience level to sign up for a
fun, 1-DAY bonspiel on Saturday, November 1st at Philadelphia Curling Club.

New curlers are highly encouraged to sign up!

The MACA Friendly is a fun, one-day, two-game, low-pressure bonspiel with members from Potomac, Plainfield, Chesapeake, Philadelphia, Diamond State, Pinelands, and Bucks County Curling Clubs. The events are a great way to meet curlers from other clubs, make new curling friends (or see old friends), and play every position in a very non-threatening situation. They are a great way to learn about curling. MACA events are open to all curlers regardless of experience.

You do not need a team to participate; you enter as an individual. Part of the fun of MACAs are that you will be randomly assigned to a team composed of curlers from different clubs. And, for more fun, you will play all four positions! During the bonspiel, your team will play two 6-end games rotating positions throughout the games, so everyone has a chance to play each position for three ends. Don’t worry if you’ve never played that position before – it’s anticipated! You’ll be coached and have lots of fun.

The entry fee is $20 per person, payable to the hosting club (Philadelphia) when you arrive. Breakfast and lunch are included,  soft drinks will be available for purchase, alcohol is BYO.

Your time commitment is only one day! The event starts at 9:00 AM and everyone should be finished by 4:00 PM.  There will be two draw times:  Early draw will be 9:00 AM/12:30 PM. Late draw will be 10:45 AM/2:15 PM.

If you are interested in participating in the Philadelphia MACA on November 1st, please send a Slack message or an email to Dewey Donovan at president@diamondstatecurling.org.

Diamond State has four slots to fill. We will fill slots on a first-come, first-served basis, with any additional curlers put on a waiting list in case someone drops out or if one of the other clubs is unable to field their allotment.
