What happens if it snows?

As I’m sure everyone has seen, there’s some snow in the forecast. Depending on where you get your weather news, it could be between 3 and 16 inches on either Saturday or Sunday. And if you live in Delaware you know that could also easily mean just rain. So the question remains, how will we know if we’re curling on Sunday?

The answer is, keep an eye on your email. Since the Patriot Ice Center charges our club for the ice time as long as they’re open, Diamond State Curling Club doesn’t cancel an event unless the arena decides they are closed. I am pre-writing a draft cancellation email, so as soon as we are informed the arena is closed I can let everyone know.

Obviously, we want everyone to be safe. If you are worried about the commute, we won’t blame you for staying home. If you decide to stay home, please just let us know as soon as you make the decision. That way we’ll know if games need to be shuffled around, and if enough people stay home it might make sense cancelling anyway. You can let us know by either emailing me at leagues@diamondstatecurling.org, or posting on the #sub-requests channel on our slack. If you don’t have access to our slack, let me know and I will make sure to send you an invite.

This Sunday is Team Sabatino’s bye week, there are two open sub spots for the bye week players but I would be surprised if a third doesn’t open up, which would be room for everyone. So even bye week players, let us know if you’re showing up or not.

Alright everyone, stay safe and hopefully we’ll see you Sunday!

Good Curling,
