It’s that time of year again…

All members in good standing are welcome (and encouraged!) to join us for the club’s 9th Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 10th. The officers and committee chairs will present informal “the year in review” style status updates, recommend goals for the year ahead, and field questions from the membership. Then, at the end of the meeting, we’ll hold elections to fill 3 vacancies on our Board of Directors.

We’re having a picnic, too!

The picnic last year was a lot of fun, so we’re doing it again! Hopefully we don’t get rained out, as we have in some previous years, and we have a pavilion again this year so we can tolerate mildly inclement weather.  But if we do get rained out, we’ll have an alternate location and still have a good time. Come early for the meeting and grab some food, hang out, and play some games. The meeting starts at 1:00pm, but we’ll likely get the grill started around 11:30. We plan on the meeting being about an hour, but our reservation is for the whole day so picnic festivities will likely carry on afterwards. The picnic and meeting will be held at Lums Pond State Park at Pavilion #3. If you’d like to help out by bringing food, paper products, or games, please let me know and we’ll add you to the committee.

Please Get involved!

Without this club, there’s no curling in Delaware. Without an active membership and effective board, the club won’t thrive.  So, we’d like to see a few smart, energetic, committed members join the board. If you aren’t available or interested in that level of commitment, there are also several committees that could use your help. Please get involved wherever you’re comfortable contributing. Interested in serving on the board? A nomination committee has been reaching out to get people to volunteer to be on the ballot. If you haven’t been contacted and would like to serve, please reply to this email by May 1st for consideration. The nominating committee will then send you additional information and instructions.

Can’t make it?  Vote by proxy!

If you won’t be able to make the meeting, but would like your voice to be heard in our Election of Directors, you can vote by proxy form and authorize another member to cast your vote(s).  Email me and I will forward you the correct form. We hope to post an initial list of candidates by May 3rd, but nominations will also be accepted from the floor.

We hope to see you there!
Good Curling,
Dewey Donovan
President
