Diamond State Curling Club is hosting its first bonspiel! The 302 Spiel (aptly named for the only Delaware area code) will be a 1-day bonspiel on arena ice at the Patriot Ice Center in Newark, DE.
Registration will open on 5/1/24 at 12:00pm ET.
Tournament Info:
- Event date: Saturday 6/29/24 from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
- Event location: Patriot Ice Center (101 John Campbell Rd, Newark, DE 19711)
- Open event, 21 years old and over
- Three Game Guarantee
- 16 teams*,**
- Games will be 6 ends
- $240 Team Entry Fee
- Lunch, dinner, and a light breakfast will be served
*Diamond state will be accepting up to two teams per club for the first three weeks of registration, teams exceeding this limit per club will be placed on a first come first serve waitlist. A payment link will be sent via email when the teams are confirmed.
**A team will be considered to represent a club if the majority of their players primarily curl in leagues at that club. For teams where clubs are equally represented, the representing club will be determined by the skips home club.
Draw Information:
The event will have a total of 7 draws. The first six draws will be two brackets comprised of half the registered teams with alternating draws. The seventh draw will be finals seated based on standings from the brackets. The finals will have four events.
Early Bracket:
- First draw: 8:30am ET
- Second draw: 12:30pm ET
- Third draw: 4:30pm ET
Less Early Bracket:
- First draw: 10:30am ET
- Second draw: 2:30pm ET
- Third draw: 6:30pm ET
Finals: 8:30pm ET
Hotel:
We have reserved a room block at local hotels for those who can't or don't want to return home the same day.

Other fun:
Since this is a one-day bonspiel, some curlers may be able to drive to and from DSCC in the same day. For anyone who can't or doesn't want to, we will have fun (optional and free) events the day before and after! On 6/28/24, curlers can join DSCC members in a round (or two) of disc golf at one of the local courses. On 6/30/24, curlers can join DSCC members in a round of Irish road bowling at White Clay State Park.
